#1- congratulations to everyone for all their hard work in the past year. . . Division
2 had a tight loss in the semi-final, Division one came up short in an exciting final,
and for the first time ever the Lady Barbarians won provincials.
#2- BANQUET tickets will be on sale from me- I will be in Brandon next WEDNESDAY
October 12th from 6:30-9:30 at either the piano lounge canad inns, or in at the tavern.
WILL be in Minnedosa next THURSDAY October 13th from 7-9:30 at Cornerstone. Will
also have them at the cleanup day on the 15th or just drop me a text/call 570.0000
and I'll get you tickets. $30, choice of beef or chicken for the meal. Banquet will
be at the Vic Inn on the 22nd of October- cocktail hour 5:30-6:30 and dinner, awards
to follow. ALSO- for anyone coming from out of town- I got a deal with Vic Inn on
rooms- for 100$ (breakfast is included), so mention that you are with the barbarian
rugby banquet when you call to get the rate!
#3- Halloween social- October 31st @ Roadhouse (take off the 1st as this should be
a gooder). Excellent club fundraiser and roaring good time. $10/ticket
#4- TRURO fundraiser- the girls going to Truro, NS in March (and any guys who would
like to lend a hand) for the Indoor sevens tournament will be heading to Hamiota
to raise some funds on Oct15th (Foods will be provided and some after "work" refreshements)
Let me know if you can help out. On a sidenote- Truro 7s is March 9,10,11th and if
anyone is interested in attending- let me know. This will be the 3rd year the girls
will have put a side in and it is always a good time. (for all of you who think you're
not fit/fast enough for 7s- keep in mind that this is an indoor tournament and is
played inside a riding arena, so significantly smaller than a full rugby pitch) There
are 72 mens teams and 34 womens teams that participate from AB, MB, ON, QC, PEI,
NS, NB, Nfld.
